Application Guidelines

Important Notice

  1. The enrollment period is only in April every year.
  2. Applicants are required to make contact with a preferred academic advisor before submitting application materials. Contact information of each professor is listed on the “Staff” page.
  3. 【For General Admissions (second-term exam) applicants】 Update on December 3rd, 2020

    It was decided that examination for General Admissions (second-term exam) on February 3, 2021 will be conducted in the following way:
    (1) In case of conducting by online conference system (Web)

    As stated in the Application Guidelines, Applicants must have a personal computer, speaker, microphone and camera which could be connected to online conference system. Furthermore, applicants need to make sure that they have a stable internet connection.

    Regarding Master’s course, Oral exam and Essay will be conducted by online conference system (Web). The Essay will be 2 hours exam including 90mins to answer.
    Regarding Doctoral course, Oral exam will be conducted by online conference system (Web).

  2. This selection is for individuals whose residents are not in Japan, and whose circumstances make it difficult to come to Japan to take the entrance examination.

Requesting the Application Guideline

The application guidelines of general category are available at the address below.
If you request the guidelines by mail, send an envelope with “Request for the application guidelines for the (Master / Doctoral) Course of the Graduate School of Global Food Resources” written in red ink on the envelope to the address below. The envelope should contain a self-addressed stamped envelope (24 cm × 33.2 cm; be sure to write your zip code, address and name, and use stamps to the value of 210 yen for standard mail or 500 yen if you would like express mail).
