Production

Increases of the Earth’s population and of climate fluctuation affect food and energy production, especially in economically developing countries. Today, food resource production systems in many nations rely on a thin balance determined by the consumption of other countries, political factors, distribution, and society. These situations leave many difficulties: not only how to increase crop yields and bioenergy resources, but also how to make agriculture sustainable in consideration of the environment, food safety, health care, and ecosystem services of agriculture.
Research of production units is designed to indicate means of resolving food and energy issues as described below, and others, from the perspective of food production, bioenergy production, application of genomes, genetic resources, and fungi for production, and their effects on human health.
1. Improvement of the productivity and effectiveness of agricultural and livestock products: biological diversity and ecosystem services, as well as utilization of local resources, including unused resources
2. Survey and evaluation of best processes: Maintaining food freshness along with safety and quality improvement of agricultural and livestock products
3. Investigation of methods for food and health care evaluation and development of ultra-sensitive detection and analytical methods for foods: The aim of education of the production unit is to produce talented people who can contribute to the resolution of food and energy related issues
